Moments of Emotion is the debut album by Hugo Antonio Miranda, released in April 2025. Featuring original solo piano compositions performed by Hugo himself, the album is a deeply personal journey through over a decade of his musical evolution. It includes early works such as Lluvia and Fantasia of Love, composed as far back as 2012, alongside more recent pieces that reflect his growth as both a composer and pianist.
With themes of romanticism, compassion, and solitude, Moments of Emotion captures the intimate and expressive voice Hugo has cultivated over the years. This album marks his first major release following the completion of his Master’s degree in Music Composition from Temple University.

Spring Butterflies
From Hugo:
Spring Butterflies was inspired by the delicate and enchanting qualities of butterflies—their gentleness, lightness, and spark of life. I wanted to capture not only their calm and graceful movements but also the sense of wonder they bring when we see them fluttering in nature. The piano texture is bright and airy, reflecting the vibrant colors of butterflies’ wings, while the flowing melodies mirror their effortless flight. This piece is my way of translating their beauty and serenity into sound.
A Distant Past
From Hugo:
A Distant Past was inspired by the hazy, dreamlike quality of memories—the way they blur together over time and carry both warmth and a touch of sadness. In writing this piece, I wanted to capture the fluid motion of reminiscing, where thoughts drift in and out like fragments of a half-remembered story. The music reflects a sense of distance, evoking the bittersweet feeling of looking back at moments that can never fully return.
From Hugo:
Warmness of the Heart was born after a long and painful breakup that left me feeling devastated, as if my heart would never heal or be capable of love again. One day, I sat at the piano without knowing what to expect, and to my surprise, the first notes that came out were tender and heartwarming. It was as if the music itself reminded me that my heart was still whole and capable of creating something beautiful. From there, the piece began to unfold naturally, almost as if it was writing itself. In that moment, I realized I was composing Warmness of the Heart—a reflection of resilience, healing, and the quiet strength that lives within us.
Warmness of the Heart
From Hugo:
I wrote Fantasia of Love when I was 16, during a time when I was discovering the intensity of first crushes. The piece was inspired by a girl I admired in high school, and it became my way of expressing feelings I couldn’t yet put into words. I aimed to capture the tenderness, longing, and quiet excitement of young love through music. The texture is soft and minimalistic, with gentle, repetitive patterns that reflect the persistence and subtlety of these emotions, inviting the listener to linger in that delicate, reflective space.

Memories
From Hugo:
In this piece, I reflected on the bittersweet nature of memories—the nostalgia that comes from knowing these moments are gone, and the gentle tenderness that lingers with them. The music seeks to capture that delicate balance between melancholy and warmth, inviting listeners to feel both the ache of loss and the quiet beauty of remembering.
Remebering
From Hugo:
The essence of this piece is similar to Memories only that this is a more joyful rendition. I was reflecting on moments from my past that brought me joy, and I wanted to capture that feeling in music. This piano piece grew from those memories, expressing the warmth, nostalgia, and lightness that come when happy moments resurface in our minds. The melodies flow gently, inviting listeners to revisit their own cherished memories and experience the simple happiness that lingers in reflection.
The Lonely Rose
From Hugo:
I wrote The Lonely Rose reflecting on feelings I experienced at the time. I imagined myself as a rose—beautiful and delicate, yet left alone in the dark. The piece explores that sense of solitude, combining moments of fragility with a quiet, lingering beauty, inviting listeners to experience both vulnerability and introspection.
Lluvia
From Hugo:
This piece is a musical portrait of a high school crush I once had. I sought to capture the serenity and beauty of that feeling, while also conveying the bittersweet sense that what I imagined could never truly be. The music flows gently, reflecting both admiration and longing, creating a space where hope and impossibility coexist.
Sweet Merry Go Round
From Hugo:
In this piece, I aimed to capture the joy and whimsical imagination of riding a merry-go-round. The music swirls and dances, reflecting the playful motion and bright energy of the experience, while inviting listeners to be carried away into a world of childlike wonder and delight.
